I am very proud of the readers we have in our classes. Keep reading and I know we will make the goals we have set and accomplish are reading desires! Today we finished "Love That Dog" and students were moved by the ending. We will continue to discuss the book, authors craft, and figurative language throughout the rest of the week.
In Social Studies we looked at Civil Rights Leaders (MLK, Rosa Parks, JFK, and Malcom X). The goal was to understand the strategies of the leaders discussed and how they were used.
A book I have kept my eye on has been "Wendell: The World's Worst Wizard". The concept interests me. Currently the book has dropped to $0.99 for Kindle (and other eBook options). If you think the book would be of interest to your child, or you wanted to try out reading a book via eBook, you might want to try this out. I have NOT read it yet, but I did buy it, and plan to read soon.
Enjoy the great weather!
