After 6 days of Snow and Holiday breaks it was good to be back in class and I can honestly say "Everything is Awesome."
We covered a lot of ground today starting with the Background to the Civil Rights Movement with a focus on Plessy vs Ferguson and Brown vs Board of Education.
We continued our reading of Love That Dog as the main character, Jack, reads what he considers the BEST poem ever. Hyperbole is our focus of Figurative Language this week and continued study of simile, metaphor, synonyms, antonyms, and homographs. Learners were also given three more poems they are working on over the course of the week.
Please remember to have your child reading every night and continue to work on their Black History Month Projects.
